Green Diamond Stonewool Grow Blocks are a crucial stepping stone to a growing plant, allowing for healthy root development in a controlled environment setting.
This transplantable media is a model environment for the vegetation state of a plant.
Balanced water retention and air ratio lead to the reduction of algae, making Green Diamond Stonewool Grow Blocks the ideal medium for the final flowering phase. Quicker dry-down times allow for more nutrient uptake and explosive growth.
NOTE: All Grow Blocks are sold by the case online. If you’re interested in pallet pricing, please contact info@umamistore.co directly.
Umami has grown in Rockwool, soil, compost, living soil, peat, perlite, pro-mix, coco, sphagnum, vermiculite, clay pellets, grow stones, deep water culture, and aeroponics (just to name a few). Every method has advantages and disadvantages and Umami has had success using all the growing media described above. However, after years and years of trial and error, Umami believes that Rockwool is superior to all other growing media. Here are a few of the reasons Umami uses Rockwool:
- Rockwool uses less water than soil or coco
Growing with Rockwool uses significantly less water than other growing media. You can also recirculate your nutrients if you want to be hyper-efficient.
- Rockwool gives you total control over nutrients and pH
Rockwool has no nutritional components until the grower adds them. Rockwool is a blank canvas. This gives the grower the ability to give their plants exactly what they need and nothing else. It allows perfect control of root zone pH; a crucial factor in your root's ability to absorb nutrients.
- Rockwool is sterile
Rockwool has a lower risk of an insect invasion and plant disease. Insects, pests, mold, and diseases emerge and multiply in soil. Rockwool comes perfectly sterile and requires less IPM.
- Rockwool requires less nutrients than other growing media
Rockwool has the ability to optimally store, release, and transfer water, oxygen, and nutrients into your root zone. Rockwool is also easier to flush than other growing media. Flushing clears plants of nutrients and produces cleaner buds that burn and taste better.
- Increase yield without expanding grow room
Rockwool cubes grow larger plants in a smaller and more compact area. Umami has grown plants over 8 feet tall using 8 cubic inches of Rockwool (that is smaller than a 3x3x3 inch cube)!
- Great for cloning and seed germination
Dunk your cubes, take your cuts, drop your cuts in rooting solution, and plant them into your cubes. Cloning with Rockwool is that simple. You can also plant seeds directly into Rockwool cubes.
- "Plug and play" transplanting and the ability to customize cubes
Transplanting from one Rockwool cube to another is extremely easy. You can cut, shave, and shape Rockwool to fit specific needs.
- Plants grow faster because Green Diamond Rockwool has a quick-dry downtime
Plant roots need oxygen in order to uptake water and nutrients. Rockwool dries down quickly and provides your plants more opportunities to uptake nutrients. The result is healthier plants that grow more vigorously.
- Rockwool cannot be spilled
Rockwool is much less dirty than other growing media because it is impossible to spill. Cleanliness is essential when you are trying to grow the highest quality material possible.
- Rockwool requires very little maintenance
Rockwool grows are ideal for hydroponic growing with controllers and timers. It is possible to fully automate your Rockwool grow so you can "set it and forget it".
